Cobb County Law Library Continuing Education Opportunities and Events The Cobb County Law Library is proud to offer an expanding number of continuing education and training opportunities. Unless noted, all library sponsored programs are open to the public, however, most require advance registration. For more information on any of these programs or to suggest or request additional offerings please call the library at 770.528.1884. Online Legal Research Training Legal research used to take hours! Sorting through indexes, tracking down citations in book after book and sometimes still walking away without the information you were looking for! The internet is revolutionizing the way attorneys and the public at large conduct legal research. With the right search terms and a click of the mouse you can now find the information you need in a matter of seconds! However, while efficient, even online legal research can be frustrating if you don't know how to use the tools available. It's why we've teamed up with the experts in the industry to offer regularly scheduled training sessions. Below you’ll find the dates of upcoming courses. Registration and a $5 seat fee are both required in advance as class size is very limited. CLE credit is available for attorneys at an extra cost. Classes will be held on the 2nd floor of building A in the computer training room.
Lecture Series We want the Cobb County Law Library to be more than just a book depository. It's why we're implementing new programs like those listed below to give attorneys and the public at large opportunities to expand their knowledge of the law, network within their chosen fields and even have a little fun! These programs are still being developed and any suggestions are welcome. CANCELLATION POLICY (Effective as of July 20, 2006) In order to get a refund you must contact someone directly in the Law Library 24 hours prior to the day of the Lecture Series. Lunch Time Lecture Series This learning lunch, typically held on the first Thursday of every month, will focus on current issues in law and litigation. Experts recommended by the State Bar of Georgia will focus on a range of issues including new legislation and how it affects your practice. Class size is limited and pre-registration is encouraged. The course cost, which covers lunch and 1 CLE credit hour, is $20 in advance. Events The Cobb County Law Library prides itself on serving as a partner in our community. Sponsoring and hosting events which increase the public's access and understanding of the law is something we're passionate about. We hope to see you at the following events!
